Walking shoes/strong sneakers will be needed for shore exploration and climbing. Reef sandals/wet shoes are suitable for beach excursions. Thongs are not suitable. We recommend you bring your own water bottle and a small backpack or carrybag for excursions. |
Q. Can I charge my camera batteries?
Red Sky at Night has 240v power available at all times for charging batteries, shaving, etc. For high wattage items, such as hairdryers, the generator will be run on request to maintain the power required.
Q. How fit do I need to be?
With our small group of just 2 couples, we are able to modify the cruise content to suit you. You will need to be able to board and disembark the tender from the beach and Red Sky. There are stairs to climb at the back of the boat and then down into the cockpit. There are also 3 stairs to descend to the guest cabins. Most shore excursions are suitable for all fitness levels. You can always remain in the tender with Graham or on Red Sky if you feel the excursion is out of your scope . On the other hand, we can also make it more challenging for adventurers
Q. What is included in the price?
The price includes the cruise, all meals and in between snacks and fruit juices and soft drinks. Transfers to / from Red Sky at Night by taxi and charter flights from and returning to your accommodation in Broome or Kununurra (depending on cruise) are all included. All excursions and fishing gear are included. A complimentary Mango Daiquiri is provided on the first night. Alcoholic beverages are not included. Red Sky Cruises are fully licensed and stock a quality selection of wine, beer, spirits and liqueurs which are billed to your account and payable an hour before disembarking,
Q. I am concerned about being in rough seas-is your cruise suitable for me?
Our 6 night cruises are all calm water cruising. On the longer cruises, there are only a very few times that we venture out of sheltered waters and we time these to suit the conditions so that our cruising is always comfortable.
Q. Do I have to go fishing?
You certainly do not have to go fishing. There will be others who are happy to catch dinner for you. But - we have converted so many into a love of the excitment of fishing in the Kimberley. If your line touches the bottom without a bite - there are no fish there and we move on to another likely place. We believe in instant gratification and there are so many other things we want to do as well.
Q. I love fishing but am allergic to seafood. Is your cruise suitable for me?
This is more common than you think. Even though our menu is based on the 'catch of the day', we always have alternatives for such as you. All care is taken in the preparation of the meals so that you are not affected by those partaking of our seafood cuisine. We also cater for vegetarians and other special dietary needs.
